In many large cities of the country over the weekend there were protests after the death of little Siyana, who died in a brutal accident near the village of Telish near Pleven. Several tens of thousands supported these protests and this gives me hope that society is really waking up and change is coming. This was said in "The Day Begins" by Siyana's father Nikolay Popov.
"Now the authorities are on the move to take measures. We have said what our demands are. In addition to all these measures that they have outlined, it is extremely important to identify the culprits, because it cannot be just one official. They are many officials who must bear responsibility and for me it is extremely important to establish the times of the signals and how they were not processed and how nothing happened in connection with these signals. It is extremely important to adopt a law on the liability of civil servants for their actions or inaction, Popov said.
He continues to claim that his daughter died because of the "negligence of some extremely impudent officials who could not put up a single road restriction sign":
"I am waiting for the inspections at the ministry to be completed and to establish who is the culprit and I want to appeal to them to hurry up with them because they have no time. August - the deadline for the rehabilitation of these 35 dangerous sections is an insane deadline. This means that we will have at least 100 more victims on the road. They must start immediately and at least 3-4 sections should have been made safe, and we only have one safe section."
