Parvan Simeonov: The clock is ticking for Radev's decision, all eyes are on him

Delyan Peevski is extremely systematically and meticulously, with roots in local government, on his way to creating a new GERB.

With this finding, sociologist Parvan Simeonov from the "Myara" agency began his analysis of the government's 100 days.
"If GERB is something like a people's party, a party - state or a party - municipality, i.e. a party that is deeply rooted in local government, Peevski is trying to replicate this model with much greater energy, consistency and dedication. This does not exclude the possibility that very soon two similar political formations will find themselves in a battle for first place on the political scene - one representing the urban strata, and the other representing the rural strata, the marginalized communities. There is also room for a third formation - the Bulgarians from the capital. It is influential, but much smaller. ... With 2 million pensioners and an aging population, there is room for new and new alternatives that are radically nostalgic, anti-globalist-sounding, or pro-Russian.
The government of Rosen Zhelyazkov became possible because of developments in the US and the conservative wave in the Western world, i.e., to form a cabinet without the liberals, he emphasized.

"There are three circumstances that are protecting this power at the moment. The first is that there is no clear alternative - Rumen Radev is not on the scene, because it is clear that some kind of comprehensive alternative is being sought, and not just a vote for the opposition parties. The second circumstance is the division of the opposition parties and it is very difficult for them to act together against this government. The third is the memory of the last 4 years. ... There will be tolerance towards this government, because nothing else seems possible".
According to Parvan Simeonov, President Rumen Radev must decide whether he will make a political alternative, because "the high expectations that are starting to accumulate may play a bad joke on him in the end":

"The clock is starting to tick for a decision, because all eyes are on him. He keeps the fire burning, trying to be a critical counterpoint to his political opponents, a political role that has brought him dividends so far".

According to the sociologist a political axis Radev - Peevski and Boyko Borisov is forming in Bulgaria, where it needs to be determined, and all other parties need to position themselves along this axis:

"For the moment, I don't see Borisov opposing Peevski, even at times a certain fear is visible - whether because Peevski has his influence in the GERB party, or because he showed what he can do with Dogan. Peevski's qualities are more relevant to the situation than Borisov's. It seems to me that for now Borisov remains on Peevski's side, which is why there is this fire between Radev and Borisov.
