A man's body surfaced from the waters of the Maritsa River in Plovdiv, the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the city announced. The report was received at 10:30 a.m. The man is about 40 years old and the initial examination shows no evidence of violence.
The body surfaced in the area of the bridge at the University of Food Technology and was found by volunteers participating in an action to clean the riverbed.
Police officers from the Second District Department responded to the report. Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated.
