The President has declared his intention to refer the matter to the Constitutional Court. His request will be able to be commented on at the moment it is made. He has the constitutional opportunity to address the Constitutional Court – let's see what the request will contain and then more can be commented on. This was stated by the Speaker of the National Assembly Natalia Kiselova to journalists in Apriltsi, where she is participating in the celebrations on the occasion of the 149th anniversary of the proclamation of the Novoselsk Republic – part of the epic of the April Uprising.

Kiselova indicated that she cannot comment on the intention of the head of state. According to the Speaker of Parliament, the reaction is expected, but she does not believe that there will be a delay or a pause in the intentions to join the eurozone.

“Despite internal resistance, the National Assembly is moving, albeit more slowly, along the path that is predetermined and according to the rules by which a National Assembly should function“, she also said.

When asked about the problem with the protest on land transport, Kiselova commented that it is within the competence of the local authorities and should be referred to them.

The Novoselsk uprising and the declared Novoselsk Republic are among the peaks of the April uprising, and in this sense, respect is part of the tribute to the dead. Here, unlike other regions where there is an uprising, absolutely everyone - from the elderly and children, to women and men - went and resisted. The local population made many sacrifices and there was not a single betrayal. The Novoselsko Uprising is a high point in the history of this part of Bulgaria, said Natalia Kiselova.

Together with the regional governor of Lovech region Dora Stoyanova and the mayor of Apriltsi municipality Eng. Tihomir Kukenski, the speaker of parliament laid wreaths and flowers in memory of those who died in the Novoselsko Uprising in the Cheren Pametnik area in the “Zla Reka” district.

Later this evening, Natalia Kiselova will receive the formation and congratulate the honorary companies of the Bulgarian Army. The speaker of parliament will deliver a speech on the occasion of the anniversary of the proclamation of the Novoselsko Republic.
