"The president's position is more hypocritical than that of "Vazrazhdane". Radev, who asks, does not answer his own question. First - is he for Bulgaria's entry into the eurozone from 01.01.2026? That interests me. How does he answer the question he asked?"
This was stated in the program "Darik's Week", quoted by Epicenter, by GERB-SDF MP Toma Bykov.
He compared the position of the head of state with that of the "Vazrazhdane" party and stated that Kostadin Kostadinov's party is honest because they say they are against the adoption of the euro, while Radev does not give a definitive opinion.
Bykov believes that there are other goals behind the president's initiative for a referendum.
"Before the convergence report was requested, he explained to "Vazrazhdane" that what they are asking is unconstitutional. At the moment when an extraordinary convergence report was requested and the entire state has stood behind this request, he says to ask now. What should we ask? About what? All these questions show that in my opinion the goal is completely different - some kind of positioning in some niche. Whether it will be successful or unsuccessful - remains to be seen. Whether it will be a party or something else, I do not know what Mr. Radev's plans are. Or whether he will drive a wedge into the government and try to destabilize it," commented Bykov.
