Yesterday, after 7 p.m., a hurricane wind came out, which continued to blow for several hours and significantly contributed to the spread of the fire. This was said by Chief Commissioner Alexander Dzhartov, Director of the General Directorate "Fire Safety and Population Protection" (GDPBZN).

The fire in the village of Ploski has not entered the village and there is no damage there. “Depending on how the smoke will continue and for this reason, the BG ALERT system was activated and people were evacuated – purely preventively, because there was intense burning“, he explained.

“Today we expect six helicopters to be working, with three already taking off and traveling towards us“, the commissioner said.

Helicopters are expected to arrive from Sweden at around 10:30.
