Former Finance Minister Simeon Dyankov expressed concern about VAT collection in Bulgaria on Nova TV, reports novini.bg.
The VAT estimate is not raised month after month, namely, additional revenues come from VAT. Collection is good, but not as planned in this year's budget, said Dyankov. And he again criticized the salary increase in the Ministry of Interior system, which he called unnecessary. There is no way not to raise taxes and have your expenses go up - it is inevitable to raise taxes, local ones for example, for the excessive profits of banks, explained Dyankov.

Simeon Dyankov explicitly reminded about raising expenses that after NATO adopted a limit of 5% of GDP for defense by 2035, this is also an important factor. That is why he again said that he does not see how it will be possible without raising taxes in the next 1-2-3 years.

"This is a very bad deal for the European Union - whatever America wants, it gets". This is how former Finance Minister Simeon Dyankov commented on the new tariffs between the US and Europe, established after the meeting between US President Donald Trump and EC President Ursula von der Leyen. "We should have behaved as an equal partner (EU), but we behaved as a younger brother", said Dyankov.
Bulgaria will lose around 250 million euros per year because of the trade deal. It doesn't seem like much, but considering that our budgets in recent years have been almost up to a 3% deficit, we will exceed the deficit according to the Maastricht criteria, Dyankov told Nova TV.

Dyankov also insisted that the EU will lose 80 billion euros per year, but in the above-mentioned analysis, 45 billion euros of this money is explicitly stated to be one-time payments for American oil and gas.
