Writer Kolyo Georgiev celebrates his 99th birthday!

Writer, playwright and journalist Kolyo Georgiev turns 99 today!

He was born on December 26, 1926 in the Montana village of Blagovo.

Biographical Data

Education: Graduated from the Planning and Economic Institute in Leningrad in 1954. Professional path: He worked as an editor in the newspaper „Rabotnichesko delo“, a correspondent in Moscow and deputy editor-in-chief at Radio „Sofia“. Leadership positions: He was the director of the Theater „Sofia“ (1978-1986) and Chairman of the Union of Bulgarian Writers (1990-1993). Public activity: Member of Parliament in the 7th Grand National Assembly (1990-1991).

Creativity

He is the author of over 15 plays and numerous collections of short stories, often focused on moral choice and historical destiny.

Plays: „Blue-White Frost“, „Extraordinary Chance“, „Time for Love“, „Fourth-fifth Richter magnitude“. Fiction: Collections of short stories such as „The best in this world“, „Days for loving“, „Possible and impossible confessions“.
