Writer, playwright and journalist Kolyo Georgiev turns 99 today!
He was born on December 26, 1926 in the Montana village of Blagovo.
Biographical Data
- Education: Graduated from the Planning and Economic Institute in Leningrad in 1954.
- Professional path: He worked as an editor in the newspaper „Rabotnichesko delo“, a correspondent in Moscow and deputy editor-in-chief at Radio „Sofia“.
- Leadership positions: He was the director of the Theater „Sofia“ (1978-1986) and Chairman of the Union of Bulgarian Writers (1990-1993).
- Public activity: Member of Parliament in the 7th Grand National Assembly (1990-1991).
Creativity
He is the author of over 15 plays and numerous collections of short stories, often focused on moral choice and historical destiny.
