A rare comet lit up the sky over Bulgaria from only 70 million kilometers

The object, called Tsuchinshan-ATLAS, was closest to Earth on Saturday

Dozens of amateur photographers and avid astronomy fans took to at sunset, the most convenient places on the Plovdiv hills in an attempt to photograph a rare comet that is passing very close to the Earth these days, BNT reported.

The object, called Tsuchinshan-ATLAS, was at its closest approach to Earth on Saturday, about 70.6 million kilometers away. Today, the comet is less visible, but it was still captured by dozens of viewers.
