Bulgaria is one of the most dynamic and promising economies in Southeast Europe. With a strategic location, competitive business conditions and a growing innovation ecosystem, our country provides a stable and predictable environment for companies that want to establish or expand their activities in Europe. This was stated by Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov during his participation in a working lunch organized by the Delphic Economic Forum and the American organization that promotes dialogue between business and political leaders, BCIU - Business Council for International Understanding. This was reported by the press center of the Council of Ministers.

Prime Minister Zhelyazkov introduced the representatives of the American business community to the advantages of Bulgaria as an investment destination. Along with our membership in the EU and NATO, the Prime Minister highlighted our accession to the Schengen area and the eurozone as a guarantee of stability and predictability. Located at the crossroads of Europe, Asia and the Middle East, Bulgaria offers access to over 500 million EU consumers and 1.3 billion customers in regions in the immediate vicinity. With five pan-European transport corridors, four international airports, Black Sea ports and terminals along the Danube River, our country offers fast and efficient connectivity for trade, supply chains and digital infrastructure, added Zhelyazkov.

The Prime Minister described Bulgaria's tax system as one of the most attractive in Europe - with a 10% flat corporate tax and a 10% flat personal income tax. The Prime Minister also highlighted the development of a national network of industrial zones. According to him, key sectors with strong investment potential are automotive and electric mobility, electronics and mechatronics, pharmaceuticals, renewable energy, information and communication technologies and smart manufacturing.

Rosen Zhelyazkov emphasized the government's commitment to increase Bulgaria's innovation performance and increase the potential of the knowledge-based economy by prioritizing smart manufacturing, digitalization and research and development in high-tech sectors.

The Prime Minister specifically highlighted the innovation potential of our country in the form of the INSAIT Institute, built with the key role of two of the world's leading universities - the Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich and the Polytechnic University of Lausanne, as well as Sofia University and in partnership with world leaders such as Google, Amazon Web Services and DeepMind. In addition, Zhelyazkov highlighted the Discoverer supercomputer, located in Sofia Tech Park and ranked among the most productive computing systems in Central and Eastern Europe. Bulgaria is also supporting the development of a national AI infrastructure, including its own large language model (BgGPT) and the upcoming BRAIN++ AI factory. Both are part of a broader government strategy to strengthen digital sovereignty and support next-generation innovation.
