Fourteen police officers have been injured in the Tbilisi riots, according to Deputy Interior Minister Alexander Darakhvelidze. One of the injured police officers in Tbilisi is in serious condition.
„There are police officers injured in the riots, one of whom is in serious condition. It would be better if those who did this prayed for him,“ the prime minister said at a briefing. Imedi TV reported earlier that several law enforcement officers were injured during protests near the presidential palace in Tbilisi.
The EU ambassador bears responsibility for the unrest in Tbilisi, as EU representatives supported the attempted unrest in the country, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said.
“You know that some people from abroad even expressed direct support for the attempt to overthrow the constitutional order, including an EU representative... Against this background, the EU ambassador to Georgia bears a special responsibility. Show goodwill, come out, share and strongly condemn everything that is happening on the streets of Tbilisi. This is his direct responsibility, considering that we have seen and heard statements in support of the attempted overthrow of the constitutional order.
