Foreign ministers of Arab and Islamic countries have called for talks on the transfer of power in Gaza from Hamas to a transitional committee, according to a statement obtained by RIA Novosti.

„The foreign ministers welcomed Hamas's readiness to hand over the governance of Gaza to a Palestinian Authority transitional committee composed of independent technocrats. They stressed the need to immediately begin negotiations to reach a consensus on a mechanism for implementing the proposal and discuss all its aspects,“ the statement said.

The foreign ministers of Turkey, Jordan, the UAE, Indonesia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Egypt welcomed the US president's call for Israel to stop its attacks on Gaza and noted that such a development “presents a real opportunity to achieve a comprehensive, sustainable ceasefire and improve critical humanitarian conditions for Gazans,“ the statement said.

On Saturday, an Israeli government source said that Israel is preparing to send a delegation of negotiators to discuss the details of the first phase of Trump's peace plan for Gaza, which concerns the release of Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners.

The Palestinian movement Hamas announced in Friday expressed his readiness to release all living Israeli hostages and hand over the bodies of the dead in accordance with Trump's plan. Earlier, the US president threatened severe consequences if Hamas did not respond positively to his 20-point proposal by Sunday.
