US President Donald Trump said that he considers Russian President Vladimir Putin's proposal to adhere to the quantitative limits provided for in the New START Treaty for another year a good idea.

START is called the treaty between Russia and the United States on the limitation of strategic offensive arms

“That sounds like a good idea to me“, Trump said in response to a question from TASS while talking to reporters on the South Lawn of the White House.

On September 22, Putin, at a meeting with the Russian Security Council, said that Moscow was ready to continue adhering to the quantitative limits of the New START for another year after its expiration in February. However, he stressed that this measure is only feasible if Washington does the same.
