President Donald Trump said he is the first former McDonald's fryer to become president - a 30-minute shift, he joked, that lasted "longer than Kamala", Fox News reported.

In his speech at the McDonald's Impact Summit 2025 in Washington, Trump used his experience in fast food restaurants to connect with franchisees and reinforce a theme he made during his campaign last fall - that his humor and work ethic set him apart from former Vice President Kamala Harris.

The president told the audience that his brief stint behind the fryer gives him the right to boast that he is the only commander in chief to wear an apron under the golden arches. He also thanked the McDonald's employee who confirmed that Kamala Harris never worked there.

"I am honored to stand before you as the first former McDonald's fryer to ever become president of the United States," Trump said. "I was actually there for about 30 minutes, which is 30 minutes longer than Kamala."

At the forum, Trump praised "McDonald's" as a symbol of affordability and American success, calling himself one of the company's most loyal customers and noting that its planes are loaded with burgers and fries instead of expensive catering.

He praised the chain's global reach and affordable menus as evidence of American innovation, saying that "McDonald's" has done more than most corporations to support workers and keep prices stable for families.
