Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky may visit the US in the next few days to finalize a deal with President Donald Trump to end Ukraine's war with Russia, said Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Rustem Umerov, quoted by Reuters, reported BTA.
"We look forward to organizing a visit of the Ukrainian president to the US at the earliest convenient date in November to complete the final steps and conclude a deal with President Trump," Rustem Umerov wrote on "Facebook".
The situation surrounding the peace plan proposed by Washington to resolve the Ukrainian crisis is currently an information bacchanalia, Russian President Vladimir Peskov's press secretary told journalists, quoted by TASS, writes BTA.
"At the moment it is impossible to comment on every media report. I would describe the situation as an information orgy – there is no other way to call it. There is indeed a lot of contradictory data, contradictory statements, etc. being published", said the Kremlin representative.
In connection with publications in Western media claiming that US Secretary of the Ground Forces Dan Driscoll is in Abu Dhabi for negotiations with a Russian delegation, Peskov said that "he has nothing to say".
Moscow has not yet received updated plans for Ukraine, Peskov said.
"At the moment the only essential thing is the American project, the project of (US President Donald) Trump. We think that this can become a very good basis for negotiations. We still adhere to this point of view," Peskov said.
Regarding Europe's role in resolving the conflict in Ukraine, the Kremlin spokesman said that it is impossible to discuss the security system without the participation of the Europeans, so at a certain stage, Europe's participation will be necessary.
Peskov added that the Russian leadership understands "that a negotiation process is underway between the Americans and the Ukrainians." "We understand that some corrections are being made to the text that was published. We understand that the text that unofficially ended up with us earlier has already undergone changes," he added.
"At some point, the time will probably come when our contacts with the Americans will also take place and we will officially receive some information," Peskov concluded.
