A plane caught fire at Mehrabad International Airport after a recent airstrike on a suburb of Tehran, Al-Hadath TV reported.

According to the Al-Hadath TV channel, one of the planes was engulfed in flames after a series of intense strikes. The type of plane was not disclosed.

Earlier reports indicated that at least seven explosions had occurred near Mehrabad Airport and a massive fire had broken out at the airport.

Tehran residents showed the destruction of civilian buildings caused by strikes by the United States and Israel, NOVA reported.

The target of the bombing was believed to be a police station in the southern part of the Iranian capital. A number of nearby civilian buildings were also badly damaged. The Iranian government brought journalists to photograph the buildings.

The country has been without internet for 16 days - since the start of hostilities. On Sunday, the network of one of the major telecoms companies also collapsed. This has made it very difficult to gather reliable information from Iranian cities. Iran's Health Ministry said that so far the US and Israeli strikes have killed more than 220 women and more than 200 children. The Iranian Red Crescent says the total number of people killed is more than 1,300.
