Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced that he and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have ordered the army to accelerate the demolition of Lebanese homes in the combat zone, in order to neutralize threats to Israeli settlements, Reuters reported, BTA reported.
According to him, the military has also been instructed to immediately destroy all bridges over the Litani River in Lebanon, as Israel says they are being used for “terrorist activity“.
"Hezbollah" reported that it had carried out an attack on Israeli soldiers in the Misgav Am area, northern Israel, Agence France-Presse reported.
According to Israeli emergency services, one person was killed in the shelling.
In a statement, the Iran-backed group said it had fired a volley of rockets at soldiers in the area. The attack was part of a series of operations that "Hezbollah" claims to have carried out against Israeli forces in northern Israel and southern Lebanon.
This is the first civilian death along Israel's northern border since the start of hostilities between Israel and "Hezbollah".
