Iranian authorities have executed two members of the terrorist group Mojahedin-e Khalq (People's Mujahideen Organization of Iran, banned in Iran), who were found guilty of terrorism. This was reported by the Iranian news agency Tasnim.

According to the agency, the two terrorists were hanged in Tehran after the Supreme Court of the Islamic Republic confirmed their death sentences. The agency notes that fighters, under foreign leadership, carried out a series of armed attacks and bombings in the Iranian capital. They were also responsible for providing financial support and renting out safe houses, which were used as workshops for assembling small rocket launchers and homemade bombs, as well as hideouts for other members of the group. They reportedly received the money in cryptocurrency tranches from coordinators abroad.

The perpetrators were caught red-handed attempting to carry out another attack using four prepared rocket launchers. An Iranian court found them guilty of armed rebellion, conspiracy against national security, and terrorist acts aimed at overthrowing the state system of the Islamic Republic. The death penalty was based on evidence found, including disguises, surveillance footage, and confessions from the defendants themselves.
