The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has announced its readiness to carry out “surprise operations“ that “ exceed the enemy's expectations“ during the conflict with the US and Israel, Tasnim reported.
The statement, marking the anniversary of the Corps' founding, states that the organization believes it is capable of acting “using new trump cards on the battlefield”. It also noted that the Guards forces are on high alert and are ready to respond to potential threats and launch additional strikes in the event of further escalation.
A day earlier, the spokesman for the Central Command of the Iranian Armed Forces, Hatam al-Anbiya, said that if the US or Israel strike the territory of the Islamic Republic during the ceasefire, the Iranian military is ready to “give them a harsh lesson“ by retaliating with attacks on already established targets.
“In the event of aggression or any actions against Iran, they will immediately strike a powerful blow to predetermined targets and give the United States and Israel another, harsher lesson than before“, the headquarters spokesman said.
On April 21, US President Donald Trump announced an extension of the ceasefire with Iran. Tehran, however, noted that it did not request this from the United States.
