The US is restricting the movement of its diplomats in Israel for security reasons, amid concerns that Iran may attacked Israel in response to an attack attributed to Israel on the Iranian diplomatic mission in Damascus, reported AFP, quoted by BTA.
„For security reasons, US administration officials and their family members are not permitted to travel outside the Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Beersheba areas until further notice,” the US Embassy said in a statement.
At the same time, US General Michael Eric Kurilla, in charge of the Middle East, arrived in Israel to discuss security threats in the region with senior local military officials.
Meanwhile, an unnamed US representative said that the US expects an attack from Iran against Israel, but not so large as to involve Washington in a war, Reuters reported.
