The Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman, had a telephone conversation with the Prime Minister of Iraq, Mohammed Shias al-Sudani, reported Reuters, quoted by BTA.

The agency specified that the two discussed possible ways to protect the Middle East from a future expansion of the current conflict and what efforts should be made to reduce the dangers of escalation of tensions.

Reuters cited Iraqi state media for the information. Prince Mohammed bin Salman is also the Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia.

A Saudi delegation, headed by Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, has arrived on a visit to Pakistan as part of efforts to expand economic cooperation, the Pakistani Foreign Ministry said, as quoted by Reuters and BTA.

The purpose of the visit is to expedite follow-up on the agreements reached between Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman at their recent meeting in Makkah al-Mukarrama to strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries, the ministry said in a statement. .

Sharif met the crown prince last week and the two discussed speeding up a planned $5 billion investment package that embattled Pakistan desperately needs to shore up its current account deficit and signal the International Monetary Fund (IMF) that it is able to continue to meet the requirements for foreign financing - a key element in previous rescue packages.

Recently, Pakistan has been trying to secure Saudi investment in various sectors - from agriculture to mining, minerals and aviation, notes Reuters.
