At least 16 people were killed in the latest Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip, the Palestinian news agency WAFA reported.
According to her, nine members of a family were victims of an air bomb that hit a residential building east of Gaza City. Four dead, including a child, were found under the rubble of a house in Al-Bureij refugee camp. Three more were killed in the strike on the Nuseirat refugee camp.
As WAFA notes, 41,965 civilians have already been killed and another 97,590 injured as a result of Israeli military action since October 7, 2023.
Radical Iraqi groups claim that their drone attacked a facility located in northern Israel. This is said in a statement by the formations that are part of the "Islamic Resistance of Iraq" association.
According to the text published on the radicals' Telegram channel, “A drone attacked a target located in the northern regions“ of Israel. More precise information about where exactly the object was located is not reported. The attack, the group said, was carried out "in support of the peoples of Palestine and Lebanon and in response to Israeli aggression against civilians".
Many aspects of the Gaza ceasefire agreement have been worked out, but some details still remain undecided. This was stated by the Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris, in a conversation with reporters from the CBS television channel.
"Yes, there is some progress, but it all means nothing if the deal is not done," she said. "We need a ceasefire and a hostage deal as soon as possible. This war must end. We cannot lose faith that this is possible," the vice president added.
Earlier, Russia's permanent representative to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzia, said that the US's defense of Israel in the UN Security Council, combined with attempts to "lead the Security Council by the nose" with his efforts at quiet diplomacy, gives the impression that Washington is negotiating a cease-fire in the Gaza Strip with itself. The Wall Street Journal reported in the second half of September that US officials doubted that it would be possible to reach a cease-fire agreement in the Gaza Strip before the end of US President Joe Biden's term.
