Turkish Coast Guard teams rescued 25 illegal migrants from a rubber dinghy drifting off the coast of the resort town of Kas in the southern province of Antalya after the vessel suffered engine failure, authorities said on Saturday. One body was found at the scene, the state-run Anadolu Agency reported, quoted by BTA.

According to a statement from the Turkish Coast Guard Command, a distress call was received from the boat, which prompted a rapid response by the teams. The migrants, including 13 children, were rescued from the vessel, which was drifting in the Mediterranean Sea.

Authorities confirmed the detention of a person suspected of human trafficking. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
