France, Germany and Britain have informed the United States which elements of a possible peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia are unacceptable for them to negotiate. This was stated by French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot on Tuesday to the radio "Franceinfo", BTA reports.

His comment comes on the eve of a new round of international negotiations in London this Wednesday, which will also include senior American representatives, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

Last week, the first joint high-level meeting between Ukraine, the US, France, Britain and Germany was held in Paris since Donald Trump took office as president. The parties exchanged positions on possible paths to ending the more than three-year-old conflict.

"The only objective that guides us is the protection of French interests and European security," Barrot stressed. "Therefore, when the United States decides to take on the role of mediator, we show them clearly where our red lines are."

Asked whether he considered Trump's statement that a peace agreement could be announced as early as this week realistic, the French foreign minister said that this entirely depends on Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Barrot described the recently announced "Easter truce" by Moscow as a "marketing operation" aimed at holding back Washington's impatience. However, he noted that despite the violations, there has been a decrease in the intensity of attacks with drones and long-range missiles - a development that could create the prerequisites for further de-escalation.
