Moscow and Washington are discussing gas supplies, among other issues. This was stated to Interfax by the aide to the Russian president, Yuri Ushakov.
"We are raising this issue with the Americans, but to be honest, I don't understand with whom else", Ushakov was quoted as saying by "Interfax".
A day earlier, "Reuters" reported on these talks, citing sources familiar with the negotiations. The publication recalled that in 2022, Europe sharply reduced imports of Russian gas, which dealt a significant blow to the Russian economy.
"Reuters" suggests that Washington's involvement in restoring gas sales could help Moscow overcome political opposition in much of Europe. As the publication says, US involvement would also benefit Washington by controlling the amount of Russian gas that returns to Europe.
