While the world's attention is focused on a possible meeting between Russian and Ukrainian delegations in Turkey, Russia is concentrating forces on the front line in eastern Ukraine for a new offensive, CNN reported, citing two senior US officials familiar with the latest intelligence assessments.
"Putin will try to seize every piece of land he can, including the outskirts of Kiev," one of the sources told the media. According to them, Moscow has not changed its strategic goals in the war, despite diplomatic efforts by the Donald Trump administration to establish a 30-day ceasefire and start real peace talks.
Intelligence obtained by CNN shows that Russia has been moving significant amounts of troops and equipment to positions located just tens of kilometers from the front line for weeks, with preparations for offensive actions appearing to be advanced.
