The second round of direct talks between Russia and Ukraine could take place next week, Bloomberg reported, citing diplomats from EU countries.
According to the agency, the role of the Vatican as a potential venue for negotiations is currently being discussed.
At the same time, there are still no clear agreements on the venue for the meeting between the delegations, as European officials claim. US representatives are in contact with the Ukrainian side regarding preparations for the next round of talks with the Russian Federation.
Also, according to the agency's sources, Washington is sending signals to Moscow that it would like to avoid participating in a new meeting of Russian representatives who take a tough stance on Kiev.
According to Bloomberg, Russia sees Istanbul as the best option for continuing the negotiations.
