"Russia will not allow the people of Ukraine to live under any circumstances under the laws adopted by the junta of Vladimir Zelensky," said Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

"The simplest" and absolutely correct thing that the West can do at this stage of its efforts to settle the situation in Ukraine is to demand the repeal of laws that directly violate the UN Charter, not to mention the numerous conventions on the rights of national minorities," he said.

"The militarization of Europe has been proclaimed in the West as one of the main tasks for the second half of the decade. This is a very dangerous trend. Russia has always stated that it is ready for peaceful negotiations that will be devoted to understanding and eliminating the root causes of the Ukrainian crisis. It was not we who avoided contacts, the first diplomat in Moscow emphasized.

"It is useless to talk to Russia from a position of force. Let them remember how their ancestors tried to talk to Russia from a position of force. But this is useless", Lavrov continued.

"US President Donald Trump has repeatedly emphasized that the conflict in Ukraine is not his war.

His position that the US is guided by national interests also applies to the Ukrainian situation", the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry added. "Ukraine expected that the West would always allow it to do whatever it wants, but Trump showed a different understanding of the situation".

"If we compare all the arguments coming from Ukraine, it is obvious that Zelensky is an inadequate leader. The question of legitimacy Zelensky will be of fundamental importance when it comes to signing the peace agreement.

Because if those whose legitimacy, to put it mildly, no longer convinces anyone, sign, then the agreement reached can be challenged by the next ones“, Lavrov argued.

“Russia and the United States should use the moments of coincidence of national interests to implement joint projects. They will never coincide completely, even in most cases they will not coincide.

But when they coincide, it would be a colossal mistake not to use this circumstance of coincidence of national interests to transfer the situation into the channel of joint, mutually beneficial projects of material importance in the field of economy, technology, etc.”, he said, adding that in relations between Russia and the United States it is “important not to indulge in illusions, it is important to be realistic, to understand, that there have been many situations when the United States has radically changed its position“.

"German Chancellor Friedrich Merz showed cynicism when he said that Germany should lead Europe under the current circumstances.

To say such words, you have to be a great cynic“, the diplomat said. Historical truth is difficult to replace, which is why ideologists in Ukraine publish such supposedly scientific works, which “make the last hairs on the back of your neck stand on end“, the first person in Russian diplomacy concluded.
