Yesterday's attack by Ukraine on several Russian air bases shows that Kiev is defending itself successfully. This was stated by Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen to journalists, quoted by Reuters, reports BTA.
“I believe that Ukraine has the right to defend itself and sometimes that includes repulsive actions. It seems that this strike was successful“, she commented on the attack.
The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) officially confirmed that it had carried out an operation codenamed “Cobweb“, which had been in preparation for over a year and a half. According to Western sources, the attack hit several important Russian air bases used for strategic bombing.
During the Vilnius summit between the Bucharest Nine (B9) and the Scandinavian countries, Frederiksen also stressed that it was “extremely important for Europe to focus on rearmament“.
The forum is attended by the leaders of Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania and Slovakia, as well as representatives of Denmark, Norway, Finland, Sweden and Iceland. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky are also present.
“Russia is a threat to us all. We must strengthen NATO's eastern flank. "Of course, we must continue to push for a ceasefire, but we must also do what is necessary on the battlefield so that Ukraine can actually win this war," Frederiksen stressed.
