The Republic of Cyprus continues its active efforts to resume the flow of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip. This was stated by Cypriot Foreign Minister Konstantinos Kombos, quoted by the Cypriot news agency KNA. He stressed that the initiative requires consultations with Israel and other countries with which Cyprus has cooperated in the past.

After meeting with his Albanian counterpart Igli Hasani, Kombos announced to journalists that Nicosia's approach is based on an active and practical position aimed at achieving a concrete result on the ground.

“Various practical aspects need to be addressed – such as the collection of aid and its logistics. "Everything depends on the situation on the ground, which is directly related to a number of parameters and security issues," the minister explained.

He stressed that Cyprus's aspiration is for the aid to be resumed immediately, but at the moment he cannot provide further details.

"However, I can confirm that our efforts continue and will continue. The needs are obvious, and our will to provide real assistance on the ground has been proven - regardless of whether some recognize it or not," Kombos stressed.

The minister also added that the implementation of any humanitarian plan, including with the participation of Cyprus, Egypt, Jordan or other countries, must necessarily go through coordination with Israel, since "there is practically no other way for this to be done."
