An Israeli army spokesman warned residents of the Palestinian-populated Gaza Strip on Monday not to go to humanitarian aid distribution centers in the enclave, whose activities are supported by US foundations, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) categorized the areas of these points as "combat zones", the world agency added.
In response to the warning, the US-backed "Gaza Humanitarian Foundation" announced that it would not distribute any aid to the coastal enclave today.
A spokesman for the organization made a statement on the matter.
He explained that the foundation's leaders had discussed with the Israeli army the expansion of the heavily guarded perimeter beyond the territory of its points.
Statistics from the International Committee of the Red Cross show 27 deaths and more than 150 injuries during aid distribution in the Gaza Strip so far, Reuters reports.
The war in the enclave broke out on October 7, 2023, with a surprise cross-border attack by the radical Palestinian group "Hamas" against Israeli territory.
According to Jerusalem, over 1,200 people were killed and 251 hostages were taken.
According to information provided by the Hamas Health Ministry, the Israeli offensive in the Gaza Strip killed over 54,000 Palestinians.
