Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky described Russia's night attack on Kiev and Odessa as "one of the biggest strikes" on the Ukrainian capital since the beginning of the war. In his words, "Russian strikes sound louder than attempts by the US and others to force Russia to peace", BBC quotes him, BTA reports.

The attack was carried out with a total of 315 drones, Ukrainian authorities announced. Four people were injured in Kiev, and damage was caused to residential buildings, a business center, warehouses and railway infrastructure. According to the head of the Kiev city administration, Timur Tkachenko, the actions of the air defense made it possible to minimize losses.

However, the situation in Odessa is more serious - two people died and more than 13 were injured. Housing, a maternity hospital, an emergency station, a private clinic, a sports complex, a zoo and the railway station building were damaged.

Zelensky made a sharp appeal to Ukraine's allies: "It is important that the world responds to these and similar Russian strikes not with silence, but with concrete actions - from the United States, which has the power to force Russia to peace; from Europe, which has no alternative but to be strong; from all who called for diplomacy and an end to the war, but were ignored by Russia. Firm pressure is needed in the name of peace."
