The Russian Embassy in Israel has issued an official appeal to Russian citizens to immediately leave the country due to the growing threat to their security. Russia's Ambassador to Israel Anatoly Viktorov warned that the risk to their lives and health in the current situation “is by no means short-term“, TASS reported, quoted by BTA.

“The situation is tense, I must admit frankly. The danger to the lives and health of both diplomats and Russian citizens in Israel is not temporary," Viktorov said in an interview with Rossiya-24 television.

"We recommend that all Russian citizens in Israel leave the country until the situation normalizes," he added.

Meanwhile, the Swiss Embassy in Iran - which represents the interests of the United States in the country - announced its temporary closure until further notice. The decision was made due to the escalating conflict in the region, Reuters reported, citing a post by the diplomatic mission on the X social network.

Switzerland, which follows a policy of neutrality, has represented American interests in Iran since the Islamic Revolution in 1979, when diplomatic relations between Washington and Tehran were severed.
