The German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) will remain part of the European Union military mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina for another year, the DPA agency reported, BTA reports.

The Bundestag approved the extension of the mandate of the Bundeswehr's participation in the EUFOR Althea operation, whose main goal is to monitor the implementation of the 1995 Dayton Peace Agreement, which ended the war in the country. Germany will continue to support the mission with up to 50 soldiers.

During the parliamentary debate, it was emphasized that despite many years of international engagement, Bosnia and Herzegovina is still in a state of political instability.
