A 3.7 magnitude earthquake shook the Strumica region in North Macedonia

The tremor was felt near the Bulgarian border, at a depth of 10.2 km

An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.7 on the Richter scale was registered at 06:54 this morning in the area of the city of Strumica, in the Republic of North Macedonia (RNM). This was reported by the National Institute of Geophysics, Geodesy and Geography (NIGGG) at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS), News.bg reports.

The earthquake was at a depth of 10.2 km, with the epicenter located about 1.5 km from the city of Strumica.

According to data from the National Seismological Center at the National Institute of Geophysics and Geophysics, the epicenter is located approximately 45 km from Petrich, 60 km from Sandanski, 90 km from Blagoevgrad and 170 km from Sofia.
