At the meetings with the newly elected co-chairs of the SPD, Lars Klingbeil, Vice Chancellor and Minister of Finance in the new coalition government of Germany, and Berbel Bass, Minister of Labor and Social Welfare, Zafirov emphasized the important role of the SPD in the common European socialist family and wished a successful mandate and successful participation in the governance of the country.

The Deputy Prime Minister also held a working meeting with the Minister of Defense of the Federal Republic of Germany, Boris Pistorius, at which specific joint state projects in the field of defense, the role of the BSP in the normalization of the political environment in Bulgaria, and common efforts to prevent nationalist and extreme populist parties from entering the public life of the countries were discussed. The meeting took place in an extremely cordial atmosphere, with Minister Pistorius accepting Zafirov's invitation to visit Sofia as soon as possible.

Within the framework of the congress, Atanas Zafirov and the Chairman of the Youth Union of the Bulgarian Socialist Party Gabriel Valkov met with the leadership of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation - President Martin Schulz, Executive Director Sabine Fandrich and the Head of the Bulgarian Office Jacques Paparo.
