Americans allow for a total economic collapse in the country in the next 10 years

This is according to the results of a YouGov sociological survey conducted in June among 1,111 adult citizens of the country

Most Americans do not rule out the possibility that the United States will suffer a total economic collapse in the next 10 years, according to the results of a survey conducted by YouGov.

“Forty-five percent of Americans believe that a complete economic collapse is very or somewhat likely in the next 10 years“, the survey says, with 41% of respondents believing that this scenario is not very likely.

The same number of Americans express the opinion that their country will cease to be a global superpower in the next 10 years. Forty percent of respondents disagree with them, believing that the United States will maintain its position on the world stage.

The survey was conducted from June 16 to 18 among 1,111 American adults.

The statistical error is 4.2 percentage points. Recently, economic experts in the United States have increasingly spoken about the possibility of a recession. CNN published an analysis according to which the American economy is on the verge of a recession due to US President Donald Trump's trade wars with other countries, and the actions of his administration have provoked “serious uncertainty“ in financial markets and a decline in investor confidence.
