According to the latest forecasts of the Turkish Meteorological Service, Turkey will be hit by a new heat wave this week, with temperatures expected to exceed 40 degrees Celsius in many regions of the country, reports the website “Türkiye Today“, quoted by BTA.

Turkish meteorologists predict a rise of six degrees above the usual temperatures for the season, and according to them, the peak of the heat wave will be on Wednesday, when according to the forecast, the temperature in the districts of Edirne, Balıkesir, Izmit, Manisa, Aydın, Denizli, Kilis, Şanlıurfa, Diyarbakir, Batman and Adıyaman will exceed 40 degrees Celsius.

Due to the extreme heat, experts recommend people to limit their outdoor activities outdoors during the lunch hour, stating that the warm weather significantly increases the health risk for the elderly, children and people with chronic diseases.

A warning has also been issued for dangerous winds in southeastern Turkey, with gusts expected to exceed 60 kilometers per hour.
