The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that they attacked Hezbollah positions in eastern Lebanon, DPA reported, BTA reported.
Israeli army fighter jets carried out an attack on military sites in the eastern Bekaa Valley, which the Iranian-backed militia uses for training, the IDF reported.
"The military complexes that were hit were used by the terrorist organization "Hezbollah" for training and educating terrorists to plan and carry out terrorist attacks against IDF troops and the State of Israel," the Israeli army said in a statement. "As part of the terrorists' training and exercises at these military sites, the terrorists conducted exercises in conducting combat operations with firearms and handling a variety of weapons," it added.
The Israeli military said that "the storage of weapons and the activities of the terrorist organization "Hezbollah" at these sites constitute a gross violation of the agreements between Israel and Lebanon."
Lebanese security sources reported that earlier today, Israeli warplanes carried out more than 10 attacks on several settlements in eastern Lebanon. According to residents of the area, loud explosions were heard during the attacks.
Israel and "Hezbollah" reached an agreement for a ceasefire in November 2024 after more than years of mutual shelling across the border. However, Israeli forces continue to attack targets inside Lebanon. Both sides accuse each other of violating the agreement.
