German Chancellor Calls on Israel for Urgent Humanitarian Aid for Gaza

Friedrich Merz Insists Aid Reaches Civilians in Enclave Quickly and in Sufficient Amounts

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz held a telephone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in which he called on him “urgently“ to provide humanitarian aid for the starving civilian population in the Gaza Strip. This was announced by the German Chancellor's office, quoted by Agence France-Presse, BTA reports.

The statement emphasizes that the aid “must reach the civilian population quickly, safely and in the necessary quantities“.

The call comes at a time of growing international alarm about the humanitarian situation in the enclave, where, according to the World Food Program, malnutrition is sharply increasing, especially among women and children as a result of the Israeli blockade.
