Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed issues related to Syria and Iran in a telephone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Reuters reported, citing a Kremlin press release, BTA reported.

The text states that Putin stressed the importance of preserving the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria. In addition, the Russian president has once again expressed his readiness to help resolve issues surrounding Iran's nuclear program.

"Given the recent escalation of the Iranian-Israeli confrontation, the Russian side expressed its readiness to assist in all possible ways to find a solution to the Iranian nuclear program through negotiations," the press release, quoted by TASS, reads.

"The leaders agreed to continue the dialogue on current issues on the international and bilateral agenda," the Russian president's press service concluded.
