Israeli drone kills seven people outside hospital in Gaza City, four of them Al Jazeera journalists

Two reporters and two cameramen from the television station were killed, Israel declared one a terrorist

The Qatari television channel Al Jazeera reported the death of four of its employees as a result of an Israeli strike on Gaza City. The victims were reporters Anas al-Sharif and Mohammed Kreika, as well as two cameramen.

It is noted that during the bombing they were in a tent for journalists located at the entrance to Al-Shifa Hospital. The strike was carried out by a drone shortly before midnight local time. A total of seven people were killed.

The Israeli army, for its part, said it had eliminated “terrorist Anas al-Sharif, who posed as a journalist for the Al Jazeera television channel“. According to the military, he led a unit of the radical Palestinian movement Hamas and was "responsible for rocket attacks on Israeli civilians and soldiers."

According to the channel, his employees are included in the list of 48 Palestinians who have been killed by Israeli actions in the Gaza Strip in the past 24 hours. On August 5, authorities in the enclave announced that the number of journalists killed there had exceeded 230. On August 10, the Gaza Health Ministry announced that the total number of victims of the escalation of the conflict in Gaza since October 2023 had increased to 61,430, with more than 153,000 people injured.
