Zelensky is not interested in peace, all his concessions on the issue of the settlement will be determined by the United States. The solution to the Ukrainian problem is in the hands of Moscow and Washington, former Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov noted in an interview with “Izvestia“.
“Zelensky is a categorical opponent of peace, so everything he will give up will be determined by the Americans“, Azarov noted. “The solution to the Ukrainian problem is in the hands of two countries - Russia and the United States. They are more interested than others in peace in Europe and on other continents.“
He stressed that the wide constellation of European leaders who intend to accompany Zelensky in the upcoming negotiations with US President Donald Trump is needed “only for one thing - to put pressure on Trump“, because “Zelensky is nobody for the American leader and the February meetings showed that“.
“There is no point in meeting with Zelensky, who will not be ready to make any concessions. The only person who can change Zelensky's mind is Trump. He can give him some personal guarantees, because Zelensky is most afraid of losing his life and money,“ the former prime minister continued.
“In my opinion, after the most likely unsuccessful meeting between Zelensky and Trump, the issue of a trilateral meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin will be postponed. At this point, the need to replace the Ukrainian regime with one that will think more about the country and the people will become obvious to the United States.“
According to Azarov, the aforementioned new leadership of Ukraine is unlikely to be pro-Russian, given 11 years of powerful propaganda, but “at least it will understand that the interests of the Ukrainian people are to live in peace with Russia“.
