Russia did not start the war in Ukraine and is doing everything possible to stop it, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with nuclear industry workers.

„Of course, propaganda works in some countries, they brainwash people and say that we started the war. And they forget that they themselves started the war when they started using tanks and planes against the civilian population of Donbas. Then the war began and we are doing everything possible to stop it“, the president said.

There is no doubt that Western companies will return to Russia, the Russian president said at a meeting with workers in the nuclear industry.

“Those who leave the scene of our interaction as a result of political pressure, I am sure, will return. And many, I repeat, are working now, and many will return“, the Russian head of state is convinced.

“Russia does not “hang“ other countries to build nuclear power plants there, and helps to create an entire industry, we train personnel, create opportunities for the production of equipment, localize on site“, said the president.

He noted that specialists from partner countries understand this, highly value it, and that is why the Rosatom leadership manages to build such good, friendly, long-term relations.

“Today we are number one in the world. Rosatom is an absolute leader in global nuclear energy. No other company in the world builds so many facilities in general and so many facilities abroad. This speaks of the quality of Rosatom's projects, this speaks of their safety, this speaks of their environmental friendliness,“ he stressed.

All facilities in the Russian border zone that were damaged during the special military operation will be restored, Putin assured.

“I am confident that the Kursk region, as well as what was damaged in other border regions, will be restored,“ the president said. “Of course, we will pay attention to the development of small and medium-sized businesses, as well as large enterprises. Currently, the government is preparing a program to restore everything that was lost and damaged in all border regions - in Kursk, Bryansk and Belgorod. Such a program will be made“, he stressed.

At a meeting with the Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Gleb Nikitin, Putin said that the high base interest rate in Russia is a temporary phenomenon, while inflation is decreasing and the country's financial authorities will react to this as expected.

In his report, the head of the region said that the region is expected to see a decrease in investment growth in 2025.

Nikitin said that the increased base interest rate implies a decrease in investment demand.

“This will not last forever, inflation is decreasing, I think the financial authorities will react accordingly“, Putin replied.
