A stray combat drone, probably Ukrainian, crashed and exploded in Russia's neighboring Estonia without causing casualties, Agence France-Presse reported, citing a statement from the authorities of this Baltic state, which is a staunch ally of Ukraine, BTA reports.

Wreckage from the drone was found by a farmer in the village of Elva, near the city of Tartu, about 75 km from the Russian-Estonian border. An explosion crater was also found at the scene.

"Based on very preliminary data, we have reason to believe that this was a Ukrainian drone aimed at targets on Russian territory," the director general of the Estonian Internal Security Service Margo Paloson told the media.

According to him, the aircraft was diverted from its trajectory by Russian "electronic warfare assets, which forced it to enter Estonian airspace".

In a message on the "Ex" platform Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal recalled that Russia has long used means to disrupt the work of GPS systems "to disrupt air and sea traffic in the region".

The neighboring countries of Russia and Ukraine have repeatedly signaled the entry of drones from the territories of the two warring parties.

Last week, the Polish Defense Minister condemned the Russian "provocation" against Poland and NATO after a Russian drone fell and exploded in a field in the eastern part of the country without causing casualties. Warsaw recalled that incidents with drones have also occurred in Romania, Lithuania and Latvia, and airspace violations have been recorded "in almost all NATO countries, especially in the Scandinavian and Baltic countries, as well as in Poland, Romania and Bulgaria".
