All parties interested in achieving a peaceful settlement in Ukraine must take into account the new territorial realities. This was stated during the plenary session on Ukraine at the UN General Assembly by Russia's permanent representative Vasily Nebenzya, quoted by TASS, reports News.bg.

„Russia is ready for a political and diplomatic settlement of the crisis. At the same time, it must be understood that for peace to be lasting, all parties must recognize the new realities after the accession of Crimea and four regions to the Russian Federation“, said Nebenzya. He defined this process as “restoration of historical justice and expression of the will of the peoples“.

The Russian diplomat accused Ukraine and its Western allies of “Russophobic policy“, which, he said, left no other choice for the population in the regions that came under Moscow's control.

In parallel, in Paris, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky outlined the key security guarantees agreed upon by 26 countries within the framework of the “coalition of the willing“. At a joint press conference with French President Emmanuel Macron, he highlighted four main elements:

a strong Ukrainian army without restrictions on its size;

expanded arms production in Ukraine and purchases of key systems from the United States, including air defense;

the presence of foreign forces “on land, in the air and at sea“;

a special “safeguard mechanism“ for support from Washington.

Zelensky added that during a telephone conversation with European leaders, US President Donald Trump had expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that some EU countries continue to buy Russian oil. “President Trump is very unhappy that Europe is buying Russian oil“, said the Ukrainian leader, naming Hungary and Slovakia as the most active buyers.
