Bulgarian labor inspectors participated in inspections on Greek territory for compliance with European legislation on workers' insurance.
Joint Greek-Bulgarian teams carried out inspections of sites in agriculture and construction, the Ministry of Labor reported, BNR writes. The initiative is part of the program of the European Labor and Workers' Protection Authority.
The teams visited grape harvesting, packaging of goods and construction sites, checking the contracts and insurance status of workers. Employers who, according to European legislation, are obliged to declare the employment contracts of employees in the companies were subjected to a documentation check.
During the inspection in just two days, the joint team of Bulgarian and Greek inspectors found 25 violators who were working without a contract. Among them was a Bulgarian.
The employers were fined 10,500 euros for each worker without social security.
The Greek side thanked the Bulgarian inspectors for their participation in the inspections, awarded them for their excellent work, and the joint inspections will continue, the Greek Ministry of Labor announced.
