Charter flights to Japan will attract more tourists to our country - 1

In recent years, Bulgaria has reported a minimal increase in the number of visits by Japanese tourists, which is extreme insufficient compared to the real potential and great opportunities of this market. This predetermines the ultimate need for air connectivity between our countries through charter flights. This was among the main topics of conversation held today by the Minister of Tourism Evtim Miloshev and the Japanese Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, Mr. Tetsuo Saito

In addition, the possibility of Bulgaria providing integrated tourist packages that would include other countries from the Balkan Peninsula was also considered. This would make the region as a whole more accessible and more attractive to Japanese tourists who are increasingly looking for new, unique and authentic experiences. According to a new survey, Japanese tourists tend to invest more in trips that offer cultural and natural attractions as well as traditional local cuisine and attractions.

The idea of creating a Japanese garden in Bulgaria to commemorate the 115-year friendship between our peoples was also discussed. The initiative has the potential to become not only a symbol of our traditional friendship, but also an original object for recreation and tourism.

As part of his visit to Tokyo, the Minister also met with the Chairman of the Japan Tour Operators Association (JATA), Mr. Hiroyuki Takahashi. This year, Bulgaria is participating with its largest national pavilion so far at a tourist exhibition in Japan. This step is a clear sign that our country prioritizes the Japanese market and sees very good opportunities for growth in the tourism sector.

The emphasis was on the strengthening of cultural and economic ties between the two countries, emphasizing the partnerships between the twin cities of Plovdiv - Okayama and Kazanlak - Fukushima. They were defined as a good base for the development of touristic and cultural relations between us.
