Over the past 5 years, the volume of exports of Kazakh IT services has increased by more than 20 times, announced the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov, the correspondent of the Kazinform agency reports.
The goal is for the level of IT exports to reach 1 billion USD by 2026. Work is being done to achieve this by creating appropriate infrastructure and supporting business in this area. "This allowed us to increase the volume of exports of Kazakh IT services more than 20 times over the past 5 years," said Bektenov.
According to him, the main export destinations for local IT products and services include the United States, the United Arab Emirates, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Germany and other countries.
„Many Kazakh projects, including Alaqan, Codiplay, CITIX, CEREBRA, OGames, Parqour, ApartX, have proven themselves well in foreign markets," the Prime Minister noted.
Bektenov emphasized that further work to increase the export of IT services and products should focus on developing acceleration programs in the regions and expanding the circle of investor partners. Regional IT centers and venture funds should become driving forces.
"Technopark Astana-hub has already become a real innovation cluster and a key partner for many startups. Over 1,500 companies are successfully operating on this platform. Astana Hub participants are provided with tax and visa preferences, information and educational support, and business development programs. This work must continue, the Prime Minister added.
